Rama shares the views from the Great Ring of Tirana: Main artery for the capital!
The opening for circulation of the Great Ring of Tirana has recently been the topic of the day.
The Prime Minister of the country, Edi Rama, this Saturday shared images of the infrastructural project, which was opened for the circulation of funds on December 30 of the year we left behind.
"Good morning and with the Great Ring of Tirana, a long-awaited main artery for the capital, I wish you a good weekend", writes the Prime Minister on Facebook.
Considered as one of the most important infrastructural projects, December 30 marked the completion of the Great Ring of Tirana and the opening for vehicle traffic in all its segments.
The construction of this ring, which is also called the fifth ring of Tirana, was planned in the regulatory plan of 1989, while the works on the first segments started more than a decade ago. During this period, some segments were gradually opened for the movement of vehicles, but many others were not yet built, causing the axes to not be joined to each other. After 2019, works started on several different lots, to mark the completion of the entire main axis at the end of 2024.
The Great Ring of Tirana has a length of 28.77 kilometers and is divided into 4 main segments: the northern ring, with a length of 8.52 km, the western ring with a length of 2.34 km, the southern ring with a length of 8.04 km and the eastern ring with a length of 9.87 km. The Great Ring of Tirana was financed with funds from the state budget.
