Only 10 out of 53 candidates regain their driving license - DPSHTRR: Roads require responsible drivers

The General Directorate of Road Transport Services has published the latest results of the retest session for drivers seeking to regain their driving license after it was revoked due to serious violations of the Road Code.
According to the DPSHTRR, the retesting process has resulted in a low pass rate, indicating that many drivers who have lost their license due to irresponsible behavior on the road fail to meet the criteria for driving.
In the last session held, only 10 candidates out of 53 re-registered have managed to successfully pass the theory and practical test, thus regaining the right to drive. Meanwhile, since the start of the re-testing campaign in June 2022, the General Directorate of Road Transport Services has re-registered a total of 2,587 candidates, of whom only 350 people - or 13.8% of the total - have managed to regain their driving license.
This result is a clear indication that not all drivers who lose their license for serious violations are prepared or aware to get back behind the wheel. The retesting process is a re-education test, which aims to guarantee safer traffic for all road users.
In the official announcement, DPSHTRR appeals to all candidates to prepare seriously and responsibly before the test, using official training resources created specifically for this purpose, such as: online simulations.
The objective remains to re-educate problematic drivers and improve road culture, reducing the number of violations and accidents caused by lack of discipline and basic knowledge.
