Digital verification for excise goods, Albania with modern fiscal stamp system
Albania is moving to a modern system with digital traceability, monitoring and verification of excise products. According to a post on Albanian customs social media, this improvement in the fiscal stamp system means:
More security for citizens
More transparency for the market
More control for the state
How can this be achieved? By equipping each fiscal stamp with a unique digital identifier. This enables products to be electronically tracked from production or import to the market. This also creates the possibility of real-time tracking of goods.
The system also brings benefits to consumers who, with an application, can prove whether products are authentic or not.
