Active fire in Sasaj, Himara/Balluku: We are on alert. Cooperation between OSHEE and the Drainage Board
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku from the village of Sasaj in Himara, said that active fires continue to burn in the area, while the wind favors the spread of the flames.
"There have been two active fires here all day, but now, also due to strong winds, the fire is descending into residential areas. There are about 30 residents living in the area, while there are many more apartments. However, all the forces are deployed here. Regarding civil emergencies and all the equipment that the Himara municipality has. We have requested other forces to come to help. The entire surrounding and nearby area must be hydrated and wet. There are active fires, which we will try to overcome. We are accumulating and bringing all the forces together," said the Deputy Prime Minister.
Balluku stated that all structures are on standby. Among other things, cooperation is being implemented between the Drainage Board and OSHEE.
"We have requested the help of the drainage board and OSHEE, to install submersible pumps in a canal that is located here in the Sasaj Valley, and it leads to Bunec. We are accumulating and we need to bring all the forces together. Now, with the help of the drainage board, the submersible pumps are also here. The army has come here, there are firefighting forces, the State Police, we are all on our feet," declared Balluku.
