Albanian tourism promoted at the FITUR fair, Madrid/ Minister Gonxhja: Growing interest in the destination 'Albania'

Albania's stand at the International Tourism Fair FITUR 2026, in Madrid, Spain, has attracted high interest from visitors and tour operators from different countries of the world, reflecting the growing international attention to Albania as a tourist destination. The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Blendi Gonxhja, held a friendly meeting with the Minister of Industry and Tourism of Spain, Jordi Hereu i Boher, where the latest developments in the tourism sector were discussed, as well as opportunities for the exchange of experiences and successful models between the two countries.
During the meeting, the parties focused on strengthening cooperation in areas of common interest, including sustainable tourism, promoting cultural destinations, diversifying the tourist offer, and extending the tourist season.
In this context, Albania's growing potential as a tourist destination was highlighted. The importance of institutional and business partnerships for promoting investments and building long-term cooperation was also appreciated.
Meanwhile, at this fair, the Albanian stand presents the country's main tourist destinations, cultural heritage values, as well as traditional products, which represent an important part of the national tourist offer. This presentation aims to reflect Albania's diversity and its potential for developing tourism throughout the year.
This fair remains a key platform for international dialogue and cooperation in the field of tourism.
