Tirana, a "magnet" of businesses - How are economic activities distributed in Albania?

According to data from the National Business Center, there are currently 408,620 active businesses in Albania. A figure that shows not only the expansion of Albanian entrepreneurship, but also the energy of an economy that is moving at new speeds.
The dominant sector is trade, along with vehicle and motorcycle repair, with 93,827 businesses. From neighborhood shops to large shopping malls, this activity remains the main pillar of economic turnover in the country.
Next comes accommodation and food service, with 43,660 entities. The growth of tourism, the numerous bars and restaurants, the expanding hotel industry, all show that "hospitality" is becoming one of the main engines of economic development.
The processing industry, with 20,626 businesses, continues to be the strategic pillar of domestic production, while transportation and warehousing, with 14,682 businesses, keep goods and services moving throughout the territory.
Construction, one of the most visible sectors of the last decade, counts 13,300 businesses, reflecting the urban transformation that the country is experiencing, especially the capital.
And it is Tirana that holds the main weight of entrepreneurship in Albania. 182 thousand 890 businesses are registered in the capital alone, a number that places the city as the economic epicenter of the country. It is followed by Durrës, with 43 thousand 276 businesses, and Vlora, with 35 thousand 651, both regions that are experiencing significant expansion thanks to tourism and investment.
This is the panorama of Albanian business, an economy supported by trade, strengthened by tourism, built by industry and driven by transportation. A country that, despite the challenges, is showing that Albanian entrepreneurship is more active than ever.
