Investments in roads, parking lots and water supply - ADF budget increases by 17%, 19.74 billion lek planned for 2026

The Albanian Development Fund will have a budget of 19.74 billion lekë for 2026, or almost 17% more than a year ago. According to the tables accompanying the draft budget for the coming year, investments include new and ongoing projects in road infrastructure, urban development, multifunctional centers, tourism, etc. The budget for new investments for 2026 is 2.45 billion lekë, or 12.5% of the total, while the rest goes to ongoing projects.
The majority of the funds go to development programs, with 9.8 billion lek, while the intervention in the asphalt layers of roads in the four regions of the country is one of the highest budget items. Following them are investments in water supply, as well as the construction of the infrastructure of the College of Europe. Meanwhile, the launch of new projects is also foreseen in the development programs, with a total fund of 4.85 billion lek, 1 billion of which for 2026.
Meanwhile, a significant portion of the ADF budget goes to local and regional infrastructure, with 7.4 billion lek planned. The package of interventions for urban regeneration in Region 2, interventions for urban regeneration and marine protection in the coastal area, improvement of parking infrastructure or urban regeneration of the housing stock are some of the most financed projects in this program. Meanwhile, new projects for local and regional infrastructure are foreseen at the rate of 6 billion lek, 1.2 billion of which are planned for 2026.
The rest of the ADF budget goes to the "100 Villages" program, with 2.5 billion lek. The launch of new projects is also foreseen for this program, with a total value of 2.7 billion lek, while 200 million lek are planned for 2026.
