Difficult situation in Gramsh, helicopters and the army on the ground -

Smoke, helicopters, drones, but also the echoes of residents in the air, dominated the view of the Skënderbegës Administrative Unit in the city of Gramsh, after the fires of August 12, which got out of control and caused considerable damage.

The Ministry of Defense, together with Civil Emergencies, decided that every resident in this area should be evacuated to safer areas, as the flames were not only consuming bushes, but also homes, forcing institutions to act urgently.

Three helicopters were deployed over the villages of this administrative unit, enabling control of the flames from the air. Civil emergency services, firefighters, state police, representatives from the municipality and the armed forces were present on the ground. However, the most touching sight was the residents of the city of Gramsh, who had come with water and food to help those in need.

The spread of the fires has forced many residents to abandon their homes. They have fled to safer areas, seeking shelter and protection from the rapidly advancing flames.

In addition to property losses, the fire has also destroyed traditional investments of farmers in the area. Burnt vineyards, olive groves with only a few leaves left, and livestock in the steepest areas have been hit hard. Most of the damage will take a long time to recover, while some may never be recovered.

The fight against the flames has moved to several villages on the outskirts of this administrative unit, where in addition to helicopters, an aerodrone was also seen in the air, which was used to monitor the situation.

The full commitment of emergency forces continues even during these hours, constantly being close to the residents affected by the disaster.
