Safety at construction sites - IKMT intervenes in Golem e Qerret. Center: Out of 55 subjects, only 2 comply with the law

The Golem and Qerret areas are among the most problematic when it comes to respecting legal obligations for technical security at construction sites.
The Chief Inspector of the National Inspectorate of Territorial Protection, Afrim Qendro, accompanied by the Mayor of Kavaja, Fisnik Qosja, held a meeting with entrepreneurs who operate in this territory.
"Currently, there are 55 permits in development here. The first inspection conducted by the National Inspectorate for Territorial Protection has resulted in only two facilities complying with legal criteria, while the rest are considered bad or very bad. I beg you to take action, because it is your obligation. It is unforgivable to damage tourism in this area of 55 construction sites. The fact that two businesses are in compliance with the law means that it is possible for everyone."
According to him, Golem, along with Qerret and Kavaja, is visited by hundreds of thousands of permanent residents as well as tourists who come to the area.
Further, he also criticized the performance of the Territory Protection Inspectorate of the Municipality of Kavaja.
"I also want to address the director of IMT Kavaja. If you had done the job, we wouldn't be here today. You have to be up to the task to do this job."
The Chief Inspector of the National Inspectorate of Territorial Protection said that next week, a re-inspection will begin at these construction sites to verify the measures taken.
