"Albania, place of honor in the largest fair in the world" - Kumbaro:

Preservation of protected areas and international promotion of Albania are two of the main priorities of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment. In the Committee for Production Activities, Trade and Environment, Minister Mirela Kumbaro stated that the budget for tourism in 2025 has increased by 7.9% compared to this year's budget.

"For the year 2025, the Ministry of Tourism and Environment has prepared the budget while maintaining the limits foreseen in 5 budget programs, specifically planning, management and administration, which is part of the entire management of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, with all its agencies, the program of environmental protection, forest program, tourism development program and waste treatment and management program. The draft budget of 2025 compared to the budget of 2024, has an increase of 7.9%, or otherwise 306 million ALL."

During her speech, Kumbaro also focused on the promotion of the tourism sector and the two main investments in protected areas.

"For the year 2025, the biggest and culminating activity will be the Tourism Fair in Berlin in March 2025. I want to emphasize that 2025 represents a special moment in the field of international promotion of Albania. Last year, the biggest fair in the world, which is the Berlin fair, has chosen Albania as the country of honor for 2025. For 2025, domestic investments will increase by 19% or plus 173 million ALL, where I will mention the two main investments we have foreseen are both related to protected areas to emphasize how much importance we attach to them. The first investment is the infrastructural development or the entire requalification of the Eco Park of Ulza. The second investment is the construction of the multifunctional visitor center in the Vjosa River, with a total value of over 600 million ALL."

The Minister of Tourism and Environment also announced the construction of a statistics platform, called E-Visitor, which will provide real-time data on the origin of tourists, tourism surveys, preferences of tourism typologies, as well as data on accommodation, which will also affect the formalization of the hotel market.
