Free oil in agriculture, the beneficiaries for the next 3 years - Payments in

The Ministry of Agriculture foresees a gradual increase in the number of beneficiaries of free oil in agriculture, but after 2025.

For 2024 and 2025, it is anticipated that 31,500 farmers will be beneficiaries of the Oil Subsidy Scheme for agriculture.

While in 2026, this number will go to 32,500 beneficiaries and in 2027 to 33,000. So the increase in the next 3 years, until 2027, will be 1 thousand more farmers.

According to data from the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency, for the year 2024, 54,255 applications for oil support for mechanized work in agriculture were selected in the first phase, 23,190 of them or nearly half of the farmers who requested support were selected.

Since the Ministry of Agriculture has stated that the fund of 12 million euros for this purpose will be divided proportionally among the applicants who meet the necessary criteria, it seems that their halving is related to problems in this direction.

The data show that the Fier district, where agriculture is more developed, is the one that leads in terms of the number of applicants and beneficiaries, followed by the Districts of Korça, Berat, Shkodra, Elbasan and Vlora.

The benefit for the cultivated area varies: up to 100% of the value, for farmers/applicants with an area of up to 10 hectares. As for the area over 10 hectares, the amount of benefit is reduced by 50%, excluding the cases of applicants with "group of farmers" or "SHBB" status.

The oil support scheme this year has changed and will not be done through cards as in previous years, but with money which will be transferred to farmers' accounts.

The Ministry of Agriculture has stated that it is working to reach an agreement with commercial banks to enable accounts with reduced costs for those farmers who are beneficiaries of oil.
