Albania, runner-up in the "WSIS Prizes 2025" for the "e-Government" category!
At one of the most prestigious global technology and innovation events, the "WSIS Prizes 2025" awards ceremony, the Director General of the AKSHI, Mirlinda Karçanaj, accepted the award on behalf of Albania.
The winning project, “Harmonization of Albanian Legislation with the EU Acquis” powered by artificial intelligence. What started from the Prime Minister's will to accelerate the process of Albania's integration into the EU, has today been concretized in this innovative module that makes it possible:
* Translation with over 95% accuracy and AI alignment of national legislation with European legislation.
* AI comparison for overlaps or contradictions of acts in the approximation process and automatic creation of compatibility tables.
What previously required months of manual work is now accomplished in a matter of minutes.
As co-negotiator of Chapter 10 "Information Society and Media", the Director of AKSHI stated that this award is a moment of double pride for her.
"The artificial intelligence model that received this assessment was conceived at the very beginning by Prime Minister Edi Rama, with a clear goal: accelerating the process of Albania's integration into the European Union. The translation of legislation that is carried out with an accuracy of over 95% and the automatic creation of compatibility tables have significantly reduced the time and work of our integration structures. What previously required months of work is now carried out very quickly, in just a few minutes, with great accuracy, with great integrity. This is a concrete example of how innovation and vision help us to be closer to the European Union. Thank you for this assessment!", she said.
