Schools damaged by the 2019 earthquake – EU4Schools repairs 59 educational facilities!
In the Municipality of Kavaja, the "EU4Schools" Program has made possible the complete repair and reinforcement of 5 educational facilities damaged by the earthquake of November 26, 2019 as follows:
· 9-year school "Mehmet Babamusta"
· 9-year school & kindergarten "Fiqiri Kurti"
· 9-year school "3 Martyrs"
· Karpën 9-year school & kindergarten, Golem
· “Charles Telford Erickson” Vocational High School, Golem
EU4Schools has guaranteed modern environments similar to those in EU countries for approximately 1,700 students, children and teachers, part of these institutions, which also benefit 41,000 residents of affected communities.
The "EU4Schools" program is funded by the European Union with 75 million Euros and implemented by #UNDP in Albania in cooperation with the Albanian government.
So far, 59 out of 63 educational facilities in 11 municipalities affected by the 2019 earthquake have been completed within the context of this project, impacting the lives of over 25,000 children, students, and teachers.
