Figures, there is less work in the north! - Dhamo: The reason is emigration in these areas, but also the economy
Albania is moving towards an increasingly pronounced division into two different employment realities.
According to data from Eurostat, about 17% of the population in the northern region of Albania has low work intensity.
Meanwhile, in the southern region this rate is recorded at only 8%.
A main factor influencing this phenomenon is the higher average age in the north.
According to INSTAT, the employment rate in this region is 54%, while in the south it reaches 61%.
Also, the two main sectors of the Albanian economy, tourism and agriculture, which together contribute 50% to the economy according to the Bank of Albania, are more developed in the south, contributing to the highest level of employment in this area.
