Salla: The National Scheme supported over 65 thousand farmers in 2025
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Andis Salla, stated today that in 2025, over 65 thousand farmers were supported through the National Support Scheme, distributing a total fund of around 5.5 billion lek.
"During 2025, the Ministry has allocated around 5.5 billion lek for the National Farmer Support Scheme, supporting over 65 thousand farmers across the country. The results have shown significant growth in several important sectors, especially in livestock and beekeeping," said Minister Salla, during the hearing in the Committee on Agriculture, Rural Development and Food.
The Minister emphasized that during January and February of this year, 23 hearings were held in 12 regions of Albania, attended by farmers, livestock farmers, beekeepers, processors and representatives of local government.
According to him, the purpose of these meetings was to collect information on the real needs of farmers and improve procedures in support schemes.
Salla explained that the Ministry has set up a working group to review suggestions received from farmers, aiming to increase payments per head and per beehive, as well as simplifying administrative procedures for beneficiaries.
Salla underlined that these initiatives aim to ensure that the National Scheme better reflects the needs of farmers and provides effective support for the development of the agricultural and rural sector in Albania.
