How many labor complaints are resolved in Albania? - Non-receipt of back wages is ranked as the main concern

The State Labor Inspectorate has registered a high volume of interaction with citizens and stakeholders during 2025, recording a total of 1,179 complaints and 135 requests for information. The data show a strong presence of problems in labor relations, with about 90% of complaints related to violations of legal provisions, while 10% constitute requests for clarification and legal guidance.
Regarding the nature of the complaints, non-payment of arrears of wages ranks as the main concern with 319 cases, of which 70% have been resolved. Termination of employment relations accounts for 207 cases, with a resolution rate of 65.7%, while violation of employment relations accounts for 193 cases, of which 67% have been successfully handled. A higher resolution performance is evidenced in cases of non-payment of social security contributions, with 119 complaints and 81.5% of them resolved.
In terms of territory, complaints appear to be concentrated mainly in urban areas. The Tirana Regional Directorate holds the main weight with 76% of cases, followed by Vlora with 11%, Korça and Shkodra with 4% each, Dibra with 2% and Gjirokastra with 1%. Meanwhile, only 2% of cases are handled at the central level, mainly for legal information issues.
This distribution clearly reflects the concentration of economic activity and the higher intensity of labor relations in urban areas, underlining the need for a differentiated and targeted approach to field inspection activity.
