Elbasan-Lekaj road, 126 million euros for construction - Corridor VIII/ ARRSH announces the winning companies for the 6 tenders
The construction of the Elbasan - Lekaj highway will cost 126 million euros, excluding VAT. The Albanian Road Authority has announced the winning companies that will implement the works in the 6 lots of this axis, paving the way for the signing of contracts and the start of the works. The winners of the 3 tenders were announced last week, while this week the winning companies for the other 3 lots were also announced.
This road axis has a length of 40.7 km and passes through the regions of Elbasan (Bradashesh, Shirgjan, Gjegjan, Cërrik, Papër), Peqin (Pajovë, Shez, Gjocaj, Peqin, Karine) and Kavajë (Sinaballaj, Rrogozhinë). It starts near the former Metallurgical Plant in Elbasan and ends in Lekaj, near Rrogozhina.
Elbasan - Lekaj is one of the segments of Corridor 8, which means that after the completion of the works it will be a highway, while referring to the tender documents, the allowed speed will be in the range of 90 - 140 km/hour.
Corridor 8 is considered the core infrastructure project in our country, while currently work is being done on 8 other lots, from Elbasan towards Qafë Thana. This is a public work, which will receive the largest part of road budget funds for the year 2025, with about 8.8 billion ALL planned.
