The electrical network in Astir and Kombinat, towards modernization - OSSH opens

The Regional Directorate of OSSH Tirana has announced the opening of the competition for the construction of two new 20 kilovolt feeders, with the aim of improving the electricity supply and reducing the load on the existing network. The project's limit fund is 76 million and 52 thousand lekë and the investment foresees the construction of two new feeders, T15 and T20, which will emerge from the Kombinat 110/20 kV Substation.

According to the document at the Public Procurement Agency, the new lines will pass near the Yzberisht roundabout and will continue along the new "Migjeni" boulevard in Astir, to the cabins where the connection points with the existing network will be realized.

This investment aims to reduce the high load currently carried by the existing feeders, which supply one of the fastest growing urban areas in the capital. According to the technical documentation, the network overload has led to an increase in technical and non-technical losses, as well as a deterioration in the quality of electricity supply.

The OSSH estimates that the current network can no longer cope with the growing demand for energy, due to the continuous expansion of the area with new constructions and population growth. For this reason, the construction of two new feeders has been considered necessary, which will create new ring connections in the 20 kilovolt network.

These connections will increase security of supply, better distribute the load on the network and reduce electricity outages. The project will include the reconstruction of several existing cabins and their adaptation to create new connection points. Referring to the document at the Public Procurement Agency, the investment aims to improve electricity supply standards in one of the areas with the highest rate of development in Tirana, by reducing losses in the network, increasing the quality of service and guaranteeing a more stable supply.
