Consumer confidence indicator increases - Cheaper prices expected in the future

The economic sentiment indicator fell by 1 point in July, but the value remains 5.4 points above the long-term average. According to the Bank of Albania survey, the reduction of this indicator was determined by the decline in confidence in all business sectors, while the consumer confidence indicator recorded an increase.

The industry confidence indicator fell slightly by 0.8 percentage points in July, influenced by less optimistic assessments of export order contracts. Business expectations for future production, employment and prices in this sector are down compared to those of the previous month.

The construction confidence indicator fell by 4.6 percentage points in July, but remains about 6 percentage points above the long-term average. Expectations for future prices are increasing.

The confidence indicator in services fell by 2.4 percentage points, while business expectations for future prices are increasing.

The trade confidence indicator fell by about 3.2 percentage points in July, mainly influenced by less optimistic assessments of business performance. The future employment indicator also contributed to the decline, but to a lesser extent. Expectations for future prices are estimated to be increasing.

The consumer confidence indicator recorded a higher value of about 2.2 percentage points. Consumers slightly increased all components of the indicator: the assessment of the country's economic situation, their financial situation in the future, as well as current and future large purchases. Expectations for the general level of prices in the future were revised downwards.
