Passenger traffic increases at the Port of Durres - January-September, over 654 thousand passengers registered
The Port of Durres continues to remain the main gateway for maritime passenger movement in the country. According to official data published by the Durres Port Authority, during the first 9 months of 2025, a total of 654,420 passengers were registered, marking an increase of 2% compared to the same period last year.
The data shows that 306,600 incoming passengers and 347,820 outgoing passengers were registered, which is 9,828 more passengers compared to 2024. These figures reflect not only the intensification of travel, but also the high number of tourists who have chosen Albania during the summer season months.
During the month of September 2025 alone, 64,658 passengers were registered, who traveled mainly to the Italian ports of Bari and Ancona, which remain the most frequented routes. These figures prove the continuation of high flows of maritime travel.
The Durrës Port Authority continues to invest in infrastructure and services to better cope with increasing flows and improve the passenger experience.
The Port of Durres is Albania's main port, which continues to play an important role in facilitating the movement of people and goods, confirming its strategic importance in the country's economy.
