Rama participates in the Berlin Process Summit in London!
Prime Minister Edi Rama will participate today in the proceedings of the annual Berlin Process Summit, which is being held in London with the participation of heads of government, high-level representatives of the EU and Berlin Process partner countries, international financial institutions and regional organizations involved in the process.
Rama has been in the UK since yesterday and was part of the Chatham House Panel, on the topic "Western Balkans and the European Union", a discussion on the challenges of each of the Western Balkan countries on the path towards EU membership.
The Prime Minister was also invited to the "Future Resilience Forum 2025", the international forum on security and global policies. Rama published photos from these two events on social networks and stated that today they continue with the Berlin Process Summit.
The Berlin Process Leaders' Summit was held in 2023 in Tirana, the first Summit held for the first time outside the borders of the EU, with the participation of 6 prime ministers of the region, as well as high-level representatives and international organizations of over 25 countries, including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Charles Michel, as well as a number of prime ministers of European Union member states.
The Berlin Process is a high-level cooperation platform between the 6 Western Balkan countries consisting of Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia, and EU member states, which aims to increase regional cooperation in the Western Balkans and provide assistance for the integration of the countries of this region into the European Union.
The process also involves EU institutions, international financial institutions and civil society of the region, the Regional Youth Cooperation Office RYCO and businesses. The main objectives of the Berlin Summit include increased political dialogue, regional stability, economic development and the eventual membership of the Western Balkan countries in the EU.
