About 246 thousand immigrants, voters on May 11 - Final figures from the CEC.

In the parliamentary elections on May 11, 245,975 people from the diaspora are expected to vote. The above figure was made official by the Central Election Commission (CEC), after the process of reviewing the latest applications. Referring to official data, 294,155 is the number of unique voters who had applied for registration. Meanwhile, 48,180 of them had their applications rejected.

In the parliamentary elections on May 11, more immigrants from Italy are expected to vote, 40.6% of the total registrations, followed by Greece with 28.3%, Germany with 10%, the USA with 6.6%, etc.  

A few days ago, the Central Election Commission approved the decision to create a special structure that will support the diaspora voting process, where 80 people are expected to be recruited.

5 specialists will be recruited for a period of 6 months, while another 75 specialists will be recruited for a period of 3 months. Of these, 20 will be operators for vote administration.

The CEC has also requested additional funds from the Parliament and the Ministry of Finance for the emigrant voting process for the general parliamentary elections on May 11. An additional 7.5 million euros are needed to cover the postal service, bringing the total for this item to 12.5 million euros.

Additionally, an additional 870 thousand euros are requested for support for electronic voting, 280 thousand euros for salaries and insurance for temporary employees, 263 thousand euros for information technology systems, etc.
