Rainfall helped put out fires - 28 fires reported in the last 24 hours, 3 still active
In the last 24 hours, there has been a significant improvement in the fire situation in the country. According to the announcement from the Ministry of Defense and Civil Emergencies, 28 fire sources have been reported, of which 3 are active and 6 are under monitoring. In the administrative unit of Tërnovo, Bulqizë Municipality, the fire continues to develop in the crown of dense forests from the mountain pass towards the old town of Bulqizë. 8 members of the Bulqizë Municipality Fire Department, 4 municipal forces, 6 forestry forces, 3 police forces, supported by the Armed Forces with 30 military forces and 1 helicopter are engaged in the operation to isolate the fire.
On the other hand, in Xeth, Fushë-Arrëz Municipality, work continues to isolate the fire with the engagement of 60 operational forces, assisted by 80 military forces and 1 helicopter. The intensity of the flames has decreased, but the work to extinguish it continues.
In Velë, Mirdita Municipality, the fire has spread over an area of 6.5 hectares covered with pine trees. On the ground are 3 firefighting vehicles with 6 personnel from the Mirdita Municipality Fire Department, 12 municipal forces, 6 forestry forces, 2 police forces and 6 military forces.
Meanwhile, the fires on Malin me Gropa in the Bulqizë Municipality are being monitored. The fire is taking place in a rocky area, without danger. 2 AdZM forces and 5 volunteers have been deployed.
The fires in Zhapokika and Rehova in the Municipality of Poliçan are under control with the intervention of forces, 2 helicopters, and helped by rainfall.
Meanwhile, in Velçan, Berat Municipality, the situation is under control after the intervention of 25 MZSH officers, 2 helicopters and favored by rainfall.
52 firefighting vehicles and 740 operational forces were deployed in the firefighting operations, assisted by the Armed Forces with 323 military forces, 7 firefighting vehicles and 1 helicopter of the Armed Forces. Also participating were 4 helicopters (UAE, Czech, Slovak) and 1 Canadair aircraft from Italy.
