Many of them were repaired and returned to circulation with higher safety standards.

According to DPSHTRR data, 56,229 vehicles were left behind or rejected in testing. Likewise, 50,735 vehicles were retested after repair; 5,325 remaining vehicles are expected to be presented after repairs and 239 vehicles were rejected due to problems such as: damaged windows, over-worn tires, defects and deficiencies in the system, deficiencies in documentation, etc.

Meanwhile, the reasons for failure in testing are related to 34.4% visual and functional deficiencies; 37.6% problems with the exhaust system; 13.2% defects in the steering system and 14.8% problems with the braking system.

Meanwhile, over 6,128 old vehicles were finally deregistered, a step towards safer roads and a cleaner environment. This process represents an important step towards increasing road safety and improving environmental quality.
