Rama meets with Rutte in The Hague/ NATO commits to the construction of a military terminal in the new port of Durres
Prime Minister Edi Rama met in The Hague with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, on the sidelines of the Euro-Atlantic alliance summit. During the meeting, the two officials discussed developments in the Western Balkans, the strategic project of the New Port of Durres, and preparations for the NATO Summit to be held in Tirana in 2027.
In a post on social networks, Rama said:
"It was a pleasure to meet NATO Secretary General and valued friend, Mark Rutte, with whom we spoke about the Summit's commitments, the Western Balkans, the major investment in the New Port of Durres, where NATO will be engaged in the military terminal, as well as preparations for the 2027 Summit in Tirana."
The meeting was also attended by Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Igli Hasani, Minister of Defense Pirro Vëngu, Director of SHISH Vlora Hyseni, and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Arben Kingji.
In the evening, Prime Minister Rama and his wife, Linda Rama, will be present at the official dinner hosted by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, which will take place at the Royal Palace "Huis ten Bosch".
We recall that Mark Rutte visited Tirana on May 16, while participating in the European Political Community Summit.
