Rama: Works are continuing, main entrance node to the city of Shkodra

Prime Minister Edi Rama announced through a post on social media that works in Bahçalëk, one of the main entry points to the city of Shkodra, are continuing, as he considered it an intervention aimed at improving infrastructure and increasing safety for drivers and pedestrians.
The project is related to the construction of a new road in the Bërdicë – Bahçalëkut Bridge segment.
The intervention foresees the expansion of the existing road in an axis of about 1.6 km, as well as the duplication of the Bahçalëk Bridge with a new parallel bridge of about 180 m. The project includes two lanes in each direction, a green separation in the middle of the axis, sidewalks and street lighting, adapting the area with urban elements since this entrance to the city is also a residential area.
According to the project, the new bridge will serve traffic moving towards Tirana, while the existing bridge will be used for vehicles entering towards Shkodra. The project has a value of 8.4 million euros, excluding VAT.
