Rama inspects "Lungomare 4": New promenade increases tourism and investments, solution sought for parking

Prime Minister Edi Rama inspected today the works at the “Lungomare 4” construction site in the city of Vlora. During the visit, the head of government stated that the new coastal promenade will become another important attraction point for the city, further increasing tourist interest from foreign visitors, domestic tourists, as well as the Albanian diaspora.
More and more visitors are coming to Albania not only for seasonal holidays, but also to invest and buy apartments in coastal areas.
In presenting the project details, FShZh Director, Dritan Agolli, explained that "Lungomare 4" is the continuation of the existing promenade on the western side, with an initial length of about 500 linear meters.
The project envisages the construction of a promenade approximately 7 meters wide, as well as a 2-meter bicycle path, creating a functional and integrated space for pedestrians and bicycle users.
He said that the underground works are nearing completion, including concreting and irrigation systems, while public lighting will be implemented in the final phase. The goal is to complete this part of the promenade by mid-May, so that it is ready for the tourist season and fully functional for citizens and visitors.
"The project also foresees the arrangement of sand. All underground works, concrete works and irrigation systems have been done. The lighting system will be installed later. The aim is that on May 15 this part of the promenade will be closed and arranged so that it will be ready for use by the citizens of Vlora and tourists for the tourist season. This is also a fourth phase, let's say, which will continue and continue, practically completing the entire Lungomare that connects to the rest of the area", explained Agolli.
The project also includes innovative elements in the organization of public space, such as a multifunctional staircase that can be used as a beach area during the morning and as an amphitheater-shaped recreational space during the afternoon and evening, creating an attractive environment for relaxation and social activities.
A red asphalt bike path and around 250 parking spaces are also planned, while work is also being done in parallel to expand parking capacities throughout the Lungomare area.
"This is a whole staircase that can be used during the morning hours, which is part of the beach, but can also be used during the afternoon and during dinner, practically turning into an amphitheater track for citizens to relax or enjoy the sunset. The track will be with red asphalt. There are 250 parking spaces. Meanwhile, we are also closing the procedure for the other parking lot in Lungomare. There are practically two powerful parking lots for the Vlora part and the tourist flow part", Agolli further emphasized.
For his part, Prime Minister Rama emphasized the importance of this investment for the city's tourist development, underlining that improving infrastructure should be accompanied by expanding parking spaces, to respond to the increased flow of visitors.
"This Lungomare project will help a lot, however, we need to identify other parking spaces, a new solution for parking needs to be made," Rama said.
Works on "Lungomare 4" are continuing at a rapid pace and the project foresees the completion of an important phase of the promenade by May 15th.
The “Lungomare 4” promenade is part of a broader strategy for the urban transformation of Vlora, aiming to increase the quality of life, improve accessibility and strengthen the city's tourist potential.
