Government, package for damage from fire on agricultural lands Denaj: We will carry out the realization of new crops. Supply of food for livestock
The government is working to draft a support package for those farmers whose agricultural lands have been burned by the fires of recent months.
According to data from the European Forest Fire Information System, since the beginning of the year, 59 fires have spread in Albania and over 29 thousand hectares of land have been burned.
The most affected regions are Vlora, Dibra, Tirana and Berat. According to the Minister of Defense, Pirro Vëngu, the next step will be to assess the damage by the municipalities. In the meantime, 4 regional civil emergency centers will be built, which will help in the landing of helicopters.
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Anila Denaj, stated that the government will finance the revitalization of affected lands and the planting of new crops.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Ervin Hoxha said that the fight against fires is expected to be more difficult during the month of August. Most of the arsons have been intentional, while 21 people have been arrested so far.
