Government, 1.2 billion lek for compensation to owners - 435 citizens gain the right to purchase land
The Council of Ministers approved the financial compensation of owners of private real estate for taxable areas occupied by legalized constructions in the local directorates of the State Cadastre Agency: Tirana, Durrës–Kavajë–Krujë, Elbasan, Shkodër, Korçë, Lezhë, Saranda, Kamzë–Vorë, Pogradec, Lushnje, Fier and Vlorë.
The total value of the financial compensation is 1.2 billion lek, for the area of 112 thousand 752.5m² of real estate included in this compensation process.
This decision has a direct impact and benefit on citizens and owners of real estate, affected by already legalized constructions, guaranteeing a legal and fair solution.
435 citizens who were previously provided with a legalization decision for their facilities, now gain the right to purchase the construction plot according to the legal framework in force, thus ensuring full and legal ownership over the apartment and the land on which it is built.
On the other hand, 515 properties affected by unauthorized constructions will be financially compensated, offering the owners a final and fair solution. Referring to the decision, the amount of financial compensation is made available by the Property Treatment Agency.
This decision is part of the commitment of the Albanian government and the State Cadastre Agency to place the citizen at the center of property reform, putting an end to the uncertainties created over the years for thousands of families, with the aim of ensuring that every Albanian citizen has a secure, registered and legally protected property.
