Works on the Tirana-Durrës highway/ Affected by the expansion, 25.1 million lek expropriations approved

The government has approved a new decision for the expropriation of property owners affected by the expansion of the Tirana-Durres highway, within the framework of phases I and II of the project. According to the decision, land and building assets will be expropriated, with a total compensation value of around 25.1 million lek.
The decision comes at a time when work continues on the expansion of one of the country's most important road axes. The first 6 kilometers of the expanded segment are currently open to vehicle traffic, while work continues on the third phase of the project, which includes the construction of the junction connecting the Laknas road to the highway.
In parallel with the civil works, the ARA has also opened a tender for the completion of the works and the aesthetic improvement of the highway from Sheshi Shqiponja to the Limuthi underpass, with a limit fund of around 1.3 billion lek. The project foresees interventions for greenery, lighting and improving road safety along the expanded segment.
According to the tender documents, new plantings of decorative trees and shrubs, an automated irrigation system, and the installation of LED lights along the axis will be implemented. The project also includes the coating of underpass walls and the rehabilitation of asphalt layers in worn-out segments.
The expansion of the Tirana - Durrës highway is considered one of the most important infrastructure projects in the country, and a few days ago it was announced that the goal is to advance the expansion to the vicinity of Vora.
