Employment January-May, women dominate/ AKPA: Over 8700 people have been employed in 5 months

8748 job seekers were employed during the period January-May 2026, through the mediation of the National Employment and Skills Agency. According to statistics published by AKPA, more than half of the employed are women and girls. Specifically, during the first five months of the year, 5 thousand 217 women and girls were mediated for a job.
Another significant category is young people. The data shows that 3,122 people up to the age of 29 entered the labor market during this period. The results also include the employment of people from low-income families or from categories that face greater difficulties in integrating into the market.
According to AKPA, 588 of the employed are members of families that benefit from the economic assistance scheme. Meanwhile, 407 members of the Roma and Egyptian communities, as well as 150 people with disabilities, have also found employment.
The reported categories may overlap with each other, as a person may simultaneously belong to more than one group, for example being young, a beneficiary of economic assistance, or a member of a vulnerable community.
The National Employment and Skills Agency emphasizes that the goal remains the creation of equal opportunities for entry into the labor market and the sustainable integration of job seekers. In addition to mediation with businesses, employment services also include orientation towards professional training and skills development, in accordance with market demands.
However, the challenge remains not only to place job seekers in a job position, but also to guarantee long-term, formal employment with appropriate conditions, especially for young people and vulnerable categories.
