Port of Durres, over 790 thousand passengers in 2025/ APD: Summer season increased passenger flow
The Port of Durres continues to remain the main maritime passenger transport hub in Albania throughout 2025. According to the Durres Port Authority, a total of 792,023 passengers were processed during the period January-December 2025. Of the total passengers processed, 389,543 were registered as inbound passengers, while 402,480 passengers were registered as outbound passengers.
The Durrës Port Authority emphasizes that the passenger flow has been relatively stable during the first months of the year, while it has marked a significant increase during the summer tourist season. The summer months have been characterized by the intensification of movements, especially on international lines to Italy, which remain the most frequented destinations by Albanian citizens and foreign tourists. This trend confirms the role of the Port of Durrës as a key connecting point between Albania and the countries of the European Union.
On the other hand, these data demonstrate the strategic importance of this port in ensuring the safe and uninterrupted movement of citizens.
