Port of Durres, over 271 thousand tons of goods in January - Flows increase, over 61 thousand passengers processed
The Port of Durres starts 2026 with positive indicators. According to the Durres Port Authority, during January 2026, over 271 thousand tons of goods were processed in the four port terminals and 30 commercial ships were handled. These indicators testify to a stable performance of port activity and an intensification of trade exchanges at the beginning of the year.
Significant growth was recorded at the Container Terminal, where 24% more were recorded compared to the same period a year ago. The tonnage of containerized goods also marked an increase of 45% compared to January 2025, which indicates an expansion in the volume of imports and exports passing through the port.
The situation in the passenger transport sector is also positive. During January, over 61 thousand passengers were processed, with an increase of 13%, as well as 21 thousand 481 vehicles. These figures reflect the increase in flows in maritime transport.
According to the Durres Port Authority, the performance of the first month of the year confirms the operational stability and efficiency of port services. The Port of Durres continues to remain the main maritime transport hub in the country, supporting economic development, trade and passenger movement, guaranteeing stable and efficient operations.
