Sectoral Portal for Exports - Investment Council Requirements: Strategy against the Informal Economy
The Investment Council, a body established to improve the business climate with the aim of increasing investments in the country, has recently published its recommendations monitoring report for 2024.
The Council suggests the creation of a Sectoral Export Portal within the framework of the Export Strategy. The purpose of this portal is to provide members of the business community with information on foreign markets, guidelines for exporting and marketing in foreign markets, access to networking with international partners, advice on foreign trade, transport and wholesale sales, offers from foreign companies, statistics on foreign trade and the economic situation, etc.
The Investment Council also recommends the drafting and adoption of a Strategy against the Informal Economy. The document should be accompanied by a detailed action plan, which includes sectoral analysis and approaches, clear deadlines and well-defined responsible institutions. The strategy should also be consulted and coordinated with business representatives to ensure its effectiveness.
According to the Investment Council, encouraging fiscal policies at the central level for those enterprises that have a budget and a certain number of employees dedicated to Research and Development is another sector where more needs to be done.
Another recommendation is that chambers of commerce and associations should offer targeted training programs for small and medium-sized enterprise leaders, focusing on human capital development and mentoring within organizations. “With the emphasis on investments in technology and automation, it is essential to prioritize training and staff skills development to meet the growing needs of business,” the Investment Council report notes.
