New tourist pole in Korça - From "Taste Routes", to the "Festival Pole" in Drenova, a series of tenders from the ADF
The development of a new tourist pole in Korça is at the center of several tenders being conducted by the Albanian Development Fund. The latest is the improvement of local and urban transport with interventions in roads and sidewalks, within the framework of the project for the construction of buildings and a park called "Festivals and Creative Industry Pole", in Drenova, Korça.
The limit fund made available for the construction of this road is around 135 million lek, while a short while ago the main tender for the construction of the buildings and the park was also opened, with a limit fund of around 334 million lek.
According to the tender documents, the project aims to create a dynamic cultural hub in the village of Drenova in Korça, transforming long-abandoned “former fish tanks” into a creative hub with the aim of economic growth. By repurposing this site, the initiative aims to stimulate development in key sectors such as hospitality, eco-tourism and the arts, while promoting innovation within the creative industries.
In parallel, the Albanian Development Fund has announced the winner of the contract worth around 600 thousand euros for life-saving interventions within the framework of the project called "Roads of Taste", located in the villages of Mollaj, Boboshticë, Drenova, Polena and Qatrom, in the Municipality of Korça.
According to the tender documents, the “Itinerary of Taste” is an extraordinary opportunity for the Korça Region and the villages included in the project to unlock the full potential of their cultural, historical and culinary heritage. The project also envisages the creation of several thematic trails, such as the Berry Trail in Drenova, the Apple Trail and the Hiking Trail in Boboshticë, the Reserve Trail in Polena or the Cherry Trail in Qatrom.
The creation of a new tourist pole for the Korça Region has long been sought by experts, as an opportunity for the further development of tourism in this area.
