The situation improves due to bad weather - Balluku: Roads are open, but chains are needed on some axes

Meanwhile, electricity supply has been restored to 81% of consumers affected by defects caused in the electrical network by bad weather.
According to the announcements on the update of the situation created by snowfall and low temperatures, published by the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Belinda Balluku, the working groups of the Albanian Road Authority, together with contractors, have intervened on the axes where problems have been identified, to clean and salt the road.
Meanwhile, work is continuing on the ground, despite the weather conditions and low temperatures, until the situation is fully normalized.
It is especially recommended to use chains and winter tires on roads such as: Thane Pass - Pogradec, Bogë - Theth, Trau Priska Pass - Molle Pass, Ersekë - Leksovik, etc.
It is also reported that during the day, work continued on the Fresk - Trau Dajt segment, at km 5, to prevent landslides, while measures are being taken to clear the Trau - Teleferiku segment, where there has been snowfall.
Regarding electricity supply, the problems in the Vlora region have been completely resolved and almost completely in the districts of Durrës, Burrel, Fier, Kukës, Korçë, Berat and Gjirokastër.
Until yesterday evening, there continued to be minor problems in the Shkodra region and more difficult ones in the Elbasan region, where the Prrenjas substation continued to be out of service.
Meanwhile, today's weather with low temperatures is considered more challenging for the transmission and distribution of electricity.
