Floods, critical situation in 6 counties - Civil Emergencies: Problems in agricultural lands, snow in some counties

As a result of intense rainfall, in recent hours there has been an increase in river levels in several regions of the country, which has created serious problems, mainly flooding of agricultural lands and homes, landslides, infrastructure damage and road blockages.
The most problematic situation is in the districts of Shkodër, Lezhë, Durrës, Fier, Berat and Gjirokastër, while in other districts the situation is under monitoring or without risk.
In Shkodra, the water level has risen in Obot by about 60 cm above the main road and traffic is only possible with heavy vehicles, while agricultural lands have been flooded. In Vau e Dejës 15 houses are surrounded by water, several roads in Malësia e Madhe are blocked, and in Fushë-Arrëz there are landslides and rock falls that have damaged the roads.
In the Lezha region, about 3,000 ha of agricultural land are under water, about 100 homes are surrounded by water and two families have been evacuated. Meanwhile, work is underway to close the breach in the embankment on the Droje River, Dukagjin village.
In Vlora, the level of the Vjosa in Novosela has exceeded 8 meters, 13 families have been evacuated near the Mifoli Bridge and in Novosela. In Durrës, the situation is currently improving, but work is underway to remove water from about 800 homes and buildings, especially in the prison area, the former Kënetës, Shkozet and Nishtullë.

Damage assessment teams are on the ground continuing to identify and document the cases: 250 people are sheltered in the Armed Forces Rest House, Durres and 55 people are sheltered in the Ministry of Interior's Co-op. The Erzen and Ishëm rivers, as well as the Tone canal, are at their maximum levels. Several city roads remain blocked due to the high water level. There are also problems in the Municipality of Krujë, as a result of the breach in the Droje river embankment, there are floods in the two villages of Dukagjin i Ri and Miliska, where 50 families have been affected.
In Shijak, there is water in 15 homes. In Gjirokastër, there are landslides on the Tepelenë-Gjirokastër axis, where traffic is limited, while work is underway to restore power in several mountainous areas, while there are high levels of the Vjosa river in Memaliaj and Përmet. In the Kukës region, rivers are at high levels, but without problems, while in the Tirana region there is an increase in river levels in Rrogozhina and Kavaja, but without immediate danger to residential areas.
Some roads are impassable in Devoll, landslides and road blockages have been recorded in Pogradec and Prrenjas, while in Maliq, there are areas of agricultural land under water. In Berat, about 95 ha of agricultural land is under water and there is an increase in the level of the Osum river. In Fier, there are about 200 ha of flooded agricultural land and water is present in 27 homes in several villages.
