Pensions, Albania-Serbia agreement approved - "Guarantee for social insurance periods"
The Council of Ministers has approved the agreement on the recognition of social security between the Republic of Albania and the Republic of Serbia, for all citizens who have paid contributions in the respective countries.
The agreement aims to guarantee social security rights for Albanian and Serbian citizens, thus ensuring the transfer and recognition of insurance periods, pension benefits and other insurance-related benefits.
This decision constitutes a concrete step towards improving the social protection of citizens who live or have lived and worked in both countries. We recall that from July 1, the benefits of the pension agreement with Italy will begin for all those Albanian and Italian citizens who have worked and contributed in both countries.
Almost a year and a half has passed since the signing of the agreement on the recognition of Italian-Albanian pensions. However, Greece, as one of the countries with the highest number of Albanian immigrants, is also making efforts to recognize social security.
But which countries are Albania facing difficulties in reaching a concrete agreement on pensions?
Some countries, such as the USA, which has a different system than Albania for the pension scheme, as well as France, England, Spain and Denmark, can be listed as countries in which they have a greater degree of difficulty in concretizing agreements.
