"Behind one wall there are other walls", the newest exhibition at the "GOCAT" Gallery - A series of works by the artist from Kosovo, Naim Spahiu
On November 7, the "GOCAT" Gallery opened its doors for the exhibition "Behind one wall there are other walls", a project by the artist from Kosovo, Naim Spahiu, which deals with the impact of past events and the importance of looking forward, towards the future . The art of Spahi comes to Albania for the first time and will remain visible until November 30.
The exhibited works, which are part of a two-year research, are based on found material of truck body covers. Each work conveys a different emotion, although all of them together deal with the relationship between man and time, as well as the weight that events such as the Kosovo war have in life.
Synchronized by Naim: "We ourselves as beings are swimmers. To be successful in your profession or in any field, you must be a good swimmer, regardless of life's challenges. I see each individual as a swimmer in time and I see each in his own direction."
The artists present at the opening of the exhibition appreciated, in addition to Naimi's art, the space of the "GOCAT" gallery.
Sinkron i Driton Hajredini: "There is an extraordinary harmony between the gallery space and Naim's work, which I must say impressed me a lot. The work is important, there is no doubt about that, but the place and the way it is exhibited are also important. Here, the idea and the primary message that Naimi wanted to convey is best preserved."
GOCAT Gallery is a free space that comes from the Mane Foundation without any payment for all art lovers and artists. "Behind one wall there are other walls", is the third exhibition that is offered free of charge to the public in Tirana.
