More than 3,300 citizens have applied so far for the Mountain Package. This initiative undertaken by the government has aroused high interest since the moment of opening the applications until now, as it aims to promote investments and serve the local economy in the mountainous areas of Albania.

So far, Shkodra is the region with the most applications, a full 687, followed by Vlora, Elbasan, Kukës and to finish with the region of Durrës which has only recorded 96 applications.

Applications are open until the end of the year, while only the first 500 citizens who will complete their project will benefit from fiscal relief for 10 years. Applications for this initiative will continue throughout the year for citizens and emigrants who want to invest in Albania.

Anyone with an idea to develop the mountainous areas of Albania, whether an individual with a passion for nature, a small or large business, a local resident or an Albanian from the diaspora who wants to return to their roots, can apply, even those who have been using state land for more than 10 years can legalize it through this package.

It must be located in a mountainous area with development priorities approved by the municipality and the government and a concrete development plan must be submitted that preserves nature and tradition.

The first 500 applications that meet the conditions and implement the project will operate tax-free for 10 years. Zero VAT, zero profit tax, zero property tax and zero infrastructure tax. Moreover, at the end of the development, the property is transferred to the citizen's name for only 1 euro.
