Salary 60,000-160,000 lek in the construction sector - References, DPT: Increased controls on businesses that pay less

Businesses in the construction sector that pay employees less than the indicative wage, determined by the General Directorate of Taxes, will be subject to a more in-depth tax audit, as part of the fight against informality.
The General Directorate of Taxes has issued an official announcement informing all taxpayers in the construction sector that, within the framework of the implementation of the construction sector plan and the increase in social security payments in order to increase pensions, the Tax Administration will analyze the salaries of employees declared on the payroll.
Also, subjects will be under scrutiny when a change of profession is used to artificially lower the salary level.
To assess the risk of taxpayers avoiding the real payment of employees' salaries, the analysis will have as a comparative element the indicative salaries of professions in the construction sector.
The list published by the General Directorate of Taxes provides indicative salaries for professions such as administrator/manager, architect, engineer, electrician, bricklayer, plasterer, tiler, plumber, truck driver, crane operator, etc. The lowest salary is 60,000 lek for a plumber and ranges up to 85,000 lek for a painter/warehouseman, 95,000 lek for an electrician/hydraulician, 90,000 lek for a bricklayer/plasterer/tiler, 100,000 lek for a construction technician/truck driver, 115,000 lek for an engineer, 140,000 lek for an administrator/director/manager, up to 160,000 lek for a crane operator.
Any taxpayer whose declared employee's salary, for the above-mentioned professions or similar ones, is below the indicative salary level, will be considered at risk and will be subject to in-depth verifications.
So, if a bricklayer is paid less than 90,000 lek per month by a business that operates in the construction field, this business has a higher risk of penalties.
