In the field of the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing, significant steps have been made, which led to our removal from the Grey List. But according to the draft law, the creation and functioning of the ZRA is associated with a series of priorities that will provide solutions to some of the problems of insufficient national and international cooperation of the State Police in the fight against organized crime, in finding and identifying criminal assets.
The ZRA extends its activity throughout the territory of the Republic of Albania. Based on the respective agreements, it also operates outside the territory of Albania.
According to the document, with the establishment and functioning of the Asset Recovery Office, expectations for higher results in the fight against organized crime and criminal assets increase, as the inter-institutional cooperation and interaction of law enforcement structures in our country and the ORA in Albania with foreign ORAs will improve, in the function of searching, finding, identifying, seizing, confiscating and recovering criminal assets.
