From waiters to lawyers, the market needs employees! - AKPA, lists 1143 job vacancies in two weeks

There are currently 6,916 job vacancies listed across Albania, according to the latest data from the National Employment and Skills Agency. In the first two weeks of October alone, a total of 1,143 vacancies were reported, reflecting the market's growing need for labor.
But what are the most sought-after professions in the Albanian labor market today?
Unlike coastal areas, where tourist businesses continue to seek employees for service staff such as waiters, cooks, sanitation workers, and other support personnel, especially even though the summer season has ended, in other cities in the country the demand for manual workers prevails.
During the first two weeks of October, 231 applications for manual workers were registered, making this one of the most sought-after categories by employers in the manufacturing, construction, or logistics sectors. Meanwhile, applications for waiters in tourist areas remain active, with 18 positions open in this short period alone.
However, there is also a demand for qualified employees with higher education. Statistics show that 230 job vacancies have been announced for professionals, with the most sought-after being financiers, economists, lawyers, engineers, and other technical specialists. This trend indicates an increase in the interest of businesses in professional staff, in order to expand or formalize their activity.
Overall, data from the National Employment and Skills Agency reflects a labor market that is moving at different rates depending on the region and sector, but also highlights a well-known challenge, the lack of employees willing to accept existing positions.
