From crime to community service – AAPSK opens call for social project ideas on confiscated assets!
Assets confiscated from criminal activities are expected to be turned into instruments for development and social inclusion. The Agency for the Administration of Sequestered and Confiscated Assets (AAPSK) has announced a public call for the submission of project ideas, with a focus on the social reuse of assets currently under its administration.
This initiative comes as a concrete effort to transform assets obtained through illegality into spaces of value for the community, in service of the needy, victims of organized crime, as well as children and young people living in affected communities.
According to AAPSK, the aim of this call is to encourage creative ideas with real impact on the ground and that have the potential to be transformed into concrete, viable and sustainable projects. The winning project will enjoy the support and mediation of the Agency in relation to donors and foundations interested in investing in social justice and community development in Albania.
Who can apply?
The call is open to a wide range of actors, including:
• Central institutions and local government units;
• Civil society organizations that provide assistance to victims of organized crime and trafficking;
• NGOs operating in the field of rehabilitation of vulnerable groups, drug users or victims of trafficking, which have an active history of at least three years in the relevant fields.
AAPSK underlines that this call is an opportunity for anyone with a valuable idea and vision to turn a confiscated property into a space that serves the public good.
How can it be applied?
Interested parties must submit project ideas to AAPSK within 20 days from the date of publication of the call. The application must contain: a description of the idea and its purpose; objectives and beneficiary group; form of use of the property; implementation deadlines; as well as the capacities of the implementer and potential partners.
Proposals can be simple in content, but must clearly demonstrate the anticipated impact and how the confiscated property can be transformed into an added value for the community. AAPSK will provide orientation support to all applicants throughout the call period.
