"The Role and Duties of the Personal Data Protection Officer" was the topic of the activity held by the Office of the Commissioner for the Right to Information and Personal Data Protection with representatives of public sector institutions.
"The main responsibilities of the Personal Data Protection Officer are to monitor, evaluate, and organize the management of the processing of personal data. And consequently, their protection. Within a company, whether public or private, within a public authority, of course, so that these are processed in accordance with European regulations, which are closely related to the integration process, because today we are not alone, we are part of the whole, since every activity today is carried out globally. But also of course, national data protection legislation," said Besnik Dervishi, Commissioner for Personal Data Protection.
But what are the skills that a Data Protection Officer should have?
"Of course it has to be an official, it plays a very functional role that includes both strategic and operational tasks. It is responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of the data of the public authority, or of the corporate enterprise, from collection to analysis through archiving and protection," said Dervishi.
Six months ago, the law "On the Protection of Personal Data" entered into force, a law that is aligned with the General Regulation on the Protection of Personal Data, bringing innovations in the field of security and protection of personal data.
