Nine active fire outbreaks in the country – MoD: The most problematic

Twenty wildfires have been identified in the country's territory over the past 24 hours. According to the Ministry of Defense, 9 of them remain active, while one is under monitoring.

To cope with the situation, 235 operational forces and 33 firefighting vehicles have been deployed, supported by 140 Armed Forces personnel, 3 helicopters and 2 "Air Tractor" aircraft.

The most difficult situation is in Gojan-Gjegjan, Puka, where strong winds and rugged terrain have made it difficult for forces to intervene. The main priority is the protection of homes, while the evacuation of residents has also been carried out. 40 Armed Forces personnel and 3 helicopters have been engaged in the operation.

In Mal Milot, Kurbin, the fire continues to be active, but currently does not pose a danger to homes. Firefighters, military and municipal forces are working on the ground, while reinforcements with troops and vehicles from the Armed Forces have been requested.

In Dajt, Tirana, a reactivation of the fire has been identified. The operation is continuing by the structures of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces, with the support of a helicopter. According to official data, there is no risk to residential areas.

In Dukat, Vlora, the fire in the Shata area has spread during the night towards the mountain. Local forces and 40 members of the Armed Forces have been engaged in the operation. Currently, homes are not at risk.

In Ballaxhiaj, Memaliaj, the fire is under control and far from residential areas. Firefighters, police and volunteers are on the scene, while some residents have been evacuated as a safety measure.

Active fires have also been reported in Kalivaç, Shtuf, Gjorm të Sipërm and Hotolisht. Meanwhile, the fire in Lufaj, Mirditë, is under control and continues to be monitored.

The National Civil Protection Agency continues to monitor and coordinate the situation throughout the territory, in cooperation with prefectures, municipalities and structures of the Civil Protection system.

Operational forces and capacities remain engaged in the field and ready for intervention, with a focus on protecting the lives of citizens, homes and property, as well as isolating active fire sources.
