Lezha Medieval Archaeological Museum, a new tourist attraction near the Castle - Important investment for cultural heritage
The Municipality of Lezha has announced the opening of the tender for the construction of the Lezha Medieval Archaeological Museum. A museum where a good part of the archaeological cultural heritage of the medieval period will be exhibited, at the entrance to the Lezha Castle, is an attractive symbiosis of tourism through cultural heritage, increasing the interest of visitors and tourists from the country and the world as an attraction, wealth, historical and cultural value.
According to the document published in the Public Procurement Agency, the architecture of this facility is conceived as very special, in accordance with the area where it will be built and without damaging the surrounding environment in any process during its construction. The facility consists of the construction of a 2-story building, ground floor and service floor. The building is foreseen and will be used for service. Meanwhile, all work related to the installation will be done according to technical requirements.
The document further emphasizes that the square where the museum will be built is located in the Sheher neighborhood of the city of Lezha, near the Lezha Castle, which stands on top of a 186-meter-high hill, east of the city and which bears witness to the traces of an ancient prehistoric civilization dating back to the 4th century BC.
The construction of this museum will be in service and function of all local and foreign tourists who have increased greatly in recent years in this city, as it is visited for its natural beauties, historical values, and very rich cuisine.
Stored for years, many artifacts representing archaeological values will be accessible to every visitor. This museum is a testament to history, culture, resistance, and the fight for freedom, independence, language, national identity, and national heritage.
Meanwhile, the structural model is of the 3-dimensional type and adequately represents the effective spatial distribution of mass, stiffness and resistance. The estimated limit fund of this project is 15 million and 102 thousand lekë. The deadline for submitting bids is until June 9, 2025, at 10:00.
