The Labor Inspectorate "goes down" to the field - Increased controls on complaints, 16.7 million lek in administrative measures
In the first quarter of 2025, the State Labor Inspectorate conducted 3064 inspections in entities, of which 89% are planned and thematic inspections, while 11% are unscheduled, which came as a result of complaints, accidents at work or randomly.
Meanwhile, referring to the data, 243 complaint inspections have been carried out in entities, where compared to the previous year, there are 48 more complaints, where it is assumed that this increase directly results from increased awareness.
While, at the end of the inspection processes, it turns out that 61% of the complaints resulted in one of the administrative penalties of suspension, warning or fine, of which 78% were resolved in favor of the employees.
The figures for accidents at work are at the same levels compared to the parallel period of the previous year, while 75 inspections for accidents at work have been handled, and it is worth noting that 100% of them have resulted in one of the administrative measures.
But what are the administrative penalties for this period?
Administrative measures have increased for the first 4 months of 2025. During this period, 1174 or 38% of inspected entities or 39 more than the same period a year ago were taken. More specifically, there are 322 urgent suspension measures, 778 warnings, 74 fines worth 16,720,000 lek.
Meanwhile, informal workers during the period January-April, it turns out that there are 475 employees, of which 460 or 97% were included in the scheme within the inspection process through the urgent measure of suspension. Compared to the same period a year ago, we have 15.6% less.
