Energy saving targets - Digital monitoring and verification system to assess achievement
The government will establish a digital monitoring and verification system to assess the achievement of national energy efficiency objectives at the national, regional, or local level.
Everything is announced in the accompanying documents of the draft law on the ratification of the financing agreement for the multi-annual operational program for energy within the framework of the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA III), which will be 79 million euros.
Given that one of the areas of support will include renewable energy and energy efficiency of buildings, the accompanying documents specify that the draft decision of the Council of Ministers "On the approval of the procedures and methodology for establishing the platform for monitoring and verifying energy savings" has already been prepared and its approval is awaited.
Meanwhile, support from the operational program in this area will be through investments, which will be carried out in public buildings in four selected municipalities, including offices, kindergartens, libraries, social and cultural centers, etc.
In addition, the operational program will co-finance renewable energy sources and energy efficiency measures in around 8,000 private households through a series of grant schemes.
Energy efficiency is one of the main points of the commitments undertaken by our country within the framework of the Green Transition.
Meanwhile, achieving the national target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 requires the renovation of 745,000 residential buildings and 8,200 public buildings according to energy efficiency principles.
