Over 89 thousand new cars registered in 11 months - DPSHTRR: More modern and safer fleet

The country's vehicle market is experiencing significant growth. During the period January-November 2025, 89,654 vehicles were registered for the first time, a figure that represents an increase of 96% compared to 2019.
According to data from the General Directorate of Road Transport Services, of the total number of registered vehicles, 73,066 are cars, which constitute 81.5% of registrations. The dominance of cars in the market underlines the orientation of citizens towards functional and suitable vehicles for daily mobility needs. These data are a clear indicator of the modernization and increase in the standards of use of road vehicles.
In parallel with the growth of the market, a key element for ensuring safety is the technical inspection of vehicles. During the first 11 months of 2025, over 297 thousand vehicles were inspected throughout the country. A significant part of them, after identifying technical problems, were repaired and returned to circulation, meeting higher safety standards.
Also, the process of cleaning the fleet of depreciated vehicles has continued with intensity. Over 7,859 old vehicles have been definitively deregistered, an important step towards safer roads and a cleaner environment. This process directly impacts on reducing pollution and improving safety for all road users.
The DPSHTRR calls on citizens to book their vehicle inspection appointment online through the e-Albania portal. Road safety starts with a checked and maintained vehicle, ready to handle any journey.
